Wear the poms on the side or back, and tug the drawstring tight to keep the wind out, if you like. Malabrigo’s handspun angora is the ultimate juicy luxury yarn, but you can sub a smooth yarn instead for a different look.
Yarn: 120 g of Malabrigo Angora (approximately 4-5 skeins, but skein size varies. Worsted weight 100% handspun angora, color shown is a test color, closest to Shocking Pink.) If you are subbing, you’ll need approximately 150-180 yards of a similar aran weight (Malabrigo Twist is a good sub, and will take 1-2 skeins.)
Needles: US size 8/5 mm 16” circular needle and set of matching dpns OR size of needle required to get gauge.
Other tools: Darning needle for weaving ends, stitch marker, pompom maker (I use the Clover ones, but some circles of cardboard can work just as well.)
Gauge: ~16 st and 20 rows in 4 inches, unblocked (some variability due to nature of yarn)
