railroad-park.jpg   Railroad Park is a Birmingham hangout that is now the name of our newest house pattern.   A trio of chunky throws that knit up in no time!  All 3 versions require 4 skeins of Magnum Chunky yarn and a size 35 needle.

Railroad Ties (bottom) is a super simple stitch pattern ideal for beginners.

Reversible Cable Cars is just that, a reversible cabled blanket.  We recommend using a larger DPN to turn your cables.

Sharp Curve Ahead is our newest version of Railroad Park; the traditional Fan & Feather stitch pattern.

Have you downloaded this pattern before and now want Sharp Curve Ahead?   Simply add this item to your cart again and after check out you will receive the updated download link containing Railroad Park 2.  Enjoy!

    It's coming along very nicely

Posted by Zuzika on 29th Sep 2015

This pattern was purchased to knit a wedding gift for my best friend who's wedding date was set for,six weeks.

The pattern is easy and well written. As the pattern developed I was delighted to find the cables run on both sides of the blanket.

    quick, easy, and fun

Love the patterns for all 3. Working on the cables now. Needed a few ideas for quick blankets for gifts and these worked out perfectly. They aren't complicated, but are still fun to do and the huge needles makes everything go quickly. Great weekend project.

Small note on railroad ties pattern

Posted by Liz Walston on 1st Jan 2015

Great pattern. I'm loving it, but for large cast ons I use the knitted cast on because of that I've had to tweak the pattern. Instead of purling then knitting I had to knit then purl to line everything up. Just thoughts others might want to know.

Great store and a fun pattern!

    Fun to knit

This is a great, quick knit with impressive results. Especially good to knit on a cold winter weekend as the knitted work becomes your blanket!

Railroad Park Can't Knit Them Fast Enough

Posted by Anita Scroggins on 20th Oct 2014

I loved knitting the one on the bottom. It was easy to do and the pattern was easy to read. I'm doing the others now and guess what every wants for Christmas. The yarn suggest is lucious.

Quick and easy patterns (and it's FREE!)

Posted by Unknown on 11th Sep 2014

The Railroad Park series of chunky blankets are quick, easy, and a joy to knit. Sharp Curve Ahead is a lovely feather and fan pattern. This blanket was my first chunky project as well as my first attempt at feather and fan. Once I got used to the much larger yarn and needle size the blanket fairly flew off my needles! I knit straight through and completed my blanket in a little over 72 hours. These blankets make for excellent last minute gifts and best of all the patterns are free!
