A faint echo of the lace band is asymmetrically etched on the hem and all edges are trimmed in single crochet
in a contrast color. For a more refined look, the edges can be worked in 2 rows of single crochet and in the same color as the rest of the shell. Your choice of buttons can add a touch of whimsy to the top.
