Loading... Please wait...I love it when I can get a fancy, lacy look with only a few rows of effort! The majority of this shawlette is a relaxing stockinette knit with a few yarn over thrown in. Work the charts at the end, et voila! Pretty and girly and frilly, oh my. You can easily substitute pretty much any sock yarn you like, or, since it’s knit at a loose gauge to promote drape, even something a little heavier (though if you can get your hands on some Hazel Knits, I recommend it!) This shawl is an unusual squared-off crescent shape and lends itself to being worn a bit like a capelet.
Yarn: 1 skein Hazel Knits Artisan Sock in Wheatberry (fingering weight, 90% merino, 10% nylon, 400 yards.) I know, I know, I don’t usually like to name the pattern after the
yarn, but dang it, it just fits.
Needles: US size 7 circular needles (at least 24”) or size to get a gauge you like
Other tools: Darning needle for weaving ends, stitch markers, chart-following tools such as highlighter or magnet board if desired. Please note that when markers are next to
yarn overs, they sometimes want to migrate underneath them, so use dangly markers if you can.
Gauge: 17 st and 32 rows in 4 inches, blocked (gauge is not crucial, though deviating significantly may change the yardage needed or final size.)
